RE: Do certain noises/pitches make you ANGRY?
The sound of my cat cleaning itself wakes me up from a dead sleep in a complete rage. I HATE it with so much passion. It doesn't matter how loud the TV or radio happen to be, it stands out above EVERYTHING else. It drives me absolutely to madness. The sound of someone chewing food does the same. I can not even stand to hear myself chew. The television, or some other type of significant background noise has to be occurring if I'm going to eat. I'm also completely appalled by the sound of the fabric on a coat rubbing together, similar to the person who posted earlier. The worst is when it rubs up against the seat belts in a car. It gives me chills and makes me sick at my stomach just thinking about it. I have this crazy issue with seat belt material in general, the way they feel and the sounds they make.. I can't put my finger on them. I have to buckle myself up with just the plastic and metal on the latch. If I do happen to touch the material I have to immediately lick my finger and rub the tips of them together very firmly.
Oh, and the sound of birds chirping in the morning is absolutely unsettling to me.

YES! Wow I thought I was the only one that actually got angry from certain noises. Try explaining that to people when there is a horrible squeak in my car that couldn't be found. I got so angry from the sound I couldn't drive safely. The family got mad when, after dumping so much money in to fix this squeak that couldn't be found, I refused to drive the car. Had to get a new one. The sound created such a violently angry reaction in me that driving it was not an option anymore. No one could understand why I couldn't just ignore it. It is good to have an explanation for this and to know it isn't just me.

High pitched tinkly or whiny sounds make me want to kill people. Especially sounds so high no one else even notices and can't understand what I'm complaining about :/ I've banned most piano muisc from the house bar Beethoven. The next time I hear a discordant jazz band I'm going to ram a bassoon somewhere regrettable. Angry? You bet!

RE: Do certain noises/pitches make you ANGRY?
I just read your post on crying babies. I definitely feel the same exact way regarding the noise, it runs through me like fire. I also liked the way you describe a child alone and totally abandoned in a crib in the dark- it brought tears to my eyes, the way I see it- It probably happened to me as my parents were a bit 'distant' although my mom always tried as best as she could with a lot of love and affection, she had mental issues and my dad was almost never around, and I can clearly remember when my dad "was" around all he did was pillage and aggravate my mom, it was a living hell to her (rest her soul) By the way, it's mother's day weekend- May 10th, 2015, I have no children (just 3 beautiful well adjusted birds) my husband is very supportive about my SPD (thereabouts) and I would like to tell you, if you are a mom, you are probably a very caring, loving, and understanding mom and I definitely wish you the very best! Happy Mother's day to you

I play the drums, which may be considered strange for someone who is hypersensitive to noise, but I rarely have a problem. However, I can't stand the sound of high notes on wind instruments if I am close by, even if it is not too loud.

I am extraordinarily good at blocking out any kind of auditory stimuli. I have no problem working on a complex math problem with construction or death metal or whatever in the background.
But. Do. Not. Scrape. Ceramic. Against. Ceramic. In. My. Presence.
Please.
I will be twitching and retching for hours. Seriously.
Thank you.

Doesn't getting beaten up make anyone angry?
Backup beepers, strobe lights, sirens, etc. are incapacitatingly painful for me, and trigger nasty migraines for me.
Doesn't getting beaten up more than once a day, findng that there's no recourse, that abled people don't consider the beatings violence, and finding that the law mandates the beatings that are destroying your life make anyone angry?

Aside from the painful sensory beatings, the insults don't help. If I talk about these things online, explaining why things aren't accessible, some people insist that it's misleading to call them beatings and violence, or insis that I'm lying and "playing a victim complex" when I'm ... actually a victim and don't know how to escape the violence.

Oh My Gosh, Raven can my son get on here and chat with you sometime? He CANNOT tolerate a baby crying / kids screaming. Problem is he is 11 yrs old, when he comes out of surgery (Hes had a lot recently) he put in recovery with other screaming kids, (he never makes a sound). Charlie is 11 yr old highly intelligent-a little Stewie Griffin we call him. Hes into Anthropology, archeology, ancient civilizations, interest in the stock market etc..
No one can understand why his personality literally changes at the sound

Ananiujitha,
ABSOLUTELY! It IS a beating. My husband described it well after seeing what our son goes through in public. Then the OT in the city wanted to push him into all public environments all day long until it "no longer bothered him". My husband could not help himself and replied, "so if I get raped enough, it wont bother me"? Is that your solution to my sons difficulties?
