Hi!
My name is Beverley and I am the mother of a son (will be 5 next month) who has been diagnosed with, first, SPD (and dyspraxia and oral hypersensitivity) and later PDD-NOS. I joined the Yahoo Group SID-AllAboutKids about a year and a half ago when I first learned of SPD and it has been a huge source of information, comfort and support. My son and I have been gluten-free for almost 11 months now and it has made a world of difference for us both.
My husband (of 15 years this month) and I live in the coastal region of NC. We previously lived in Fayetteville, home of Ft Bragg, where my husband was born (his father was Army 82nd Airborne). When my son was born, we moved back to my hometown of Jacksonville (NC). In addition to our only child, we have 2 dogs and 2 fish.
Thanks for all the hard work in pulling this together!

Hey Beverly! Welcome to the new site!
Glad to see you've made it over. Like it?

Yeah, I'm hoping this group can continue the legacy of amazing support that was started by SID-DSI AllAboutKids. That was one of the the best SPD support groups in the world when I first joined it, and I would say it still is! It's certainly one of the largest. The only one that compares size-wise is Carrie's Facebook group, which is also awesome.

I'll bet Anna Letaw has been helpful for you guys on that one, and this site has it's own sub-forum under Treating SPD for 'GFCF, Biomed, and Diet', Anna will be around to run that, as long as she's able to, that is.

Gotta support the Armed Services . I'm not able to join, but I do support it. It's great your marriage has lasted so long. It's sad how rare that's becoming. My parents have been together for 31 years now, and that's more than most people I know of.
Well, hope you enjoy the new site. Thanks for realizing the work that went into it. This kept me busy for a few months. And I had to seek some assistance throughout the process from my friend and co-administrator, Martin. He's in as a sort of 'technical-advisor', but is also an SPDer himself.
Anyhow, you take care Beverly. Glad to have you on here. I hope you enjoy your time here.
Hi, welcome to SPD Support! Have a free cyber hug!
