Winter Storm in Northeast
It's not even winter and I'm tired of it. If this is a sign of things to come, it doesn't look good.
We lost power on Saturday 10/29 around 4 pm and got it back around 1pm Thursday. We slept in front of the fireplace Saturday night, but then went to hubby's sister's house the rest of the time. She didn't lose power luckily.
The snow was so heavy and most of leaves were still on the trees, so there were a LOT of downed trees and branches, and downed power lines.
The worst part was that school was canceled and Halloween was canceled. My kids were so disappointed about no Halloween. We made do by having an indoor party at SIL's house. Trick-or-treated at each bedroom door (one adult in each room with a bag of candy).
I guess they're going to have something on Sunday at the community center for the kids.

RE: Winter Storm in Northeast
Sounds a bit scary, I live in the uk and we have bad winds but can't remember when the last time we had no power. You sound very resourceful, still doing trick or treat in the house I wouldn't have thought of that. Hope the weather is kinder to you over there.
