How do you deal with slurs?
Most abled people use ableist and often eugenicist slurs as their go-to insults.
I'm not in a position to ignore the slurs. My day-to-day safety depends on other people's willingness to stop endangering those of us with spd and/or strobe sensitivities. I'm having a hard time coping with all the slurs, on top of the beatings and strobings.

Slurs hit me hard as well. No suggestions, but wanted to let you know you aren't alone in that feeling.

I often object to these slurs. I may discuss their role in forced sterilization campaigns. I may point out ongoing discrimination, endangerment, and violence against those of us with neurological disabilities. Today some jackass told me:
Quote:Oh shut up, imbecile. The word imbecile isn’t defined by the American supreme court. Don’t forget you speak English over there. It’s our language, not yours. We define it. Not you.
