Hi everyone !
My name is Virginie, and I'm from South of France. My son (5 years old) has been diagnosed SPD 1 year ago (a mild one I supposed).
Since, I'm desperate to find informations to help my son at home everyday.
Unfortunately, SPD is completely unknown by professionals. A few ergotherapeute (I guess OT in USA) are qualified to work with SPD..... Nearest from us is about 100km...
Some days are not easy at home, specially with meltdown. Emotion is very difficult, he's anxious and deals badly with all kind of frustration.
I always asked for help to know how to deal with that, tips or whatever ! But the ergotherapeute, who is my only spokesperson today never gave me any saying that we don't do therapy at home.....
(Therapy was twice then one day/week). Today, the therapy is on "pause" because she thinks he is in the "standard"....
Discovering this website is such a hope for me to find all I wanted to know !
Talk with people who understand and have been through is so precious !
I've got so much question, I hope you can heap me !!
(Sorry for my "poor english")
Thanks for reading me,
Virginie
