1. What brings you here?My oldest (8 yr.) DD has SPD
2. What is your relations to someone with SPD? Do you have it? a child of yours? Do you treat SPD kids as a professional?I have some sensory issues myself
3. Share a little of your journey if you'd like. It's been tough and rewarding at the same time
4. Is there any immediate help you need?cost efficient home OT room, DH is unemployed right now
5. SPD doesn't run your life! What are you or your child's gifts? Interests? My DD's gifts: she is delightful, talkative and knowledgeable. She has a great sense of humor (she nicknamed boy twin Mr. Sunny pants because he was so cranky). She is artistic, energetic and playful. She loves all nature, bugs, and animals. Also loves dinosaurs and wants to a paleontologist. She is adventurous and daring. She loves yoga and OT.
6. What do you like to do in your spare time? Any hobbies or interests? In my "spare time" (LOL). I just had twins 5 months ago, and 2 older DD, so... I used to like to be social, eat out, go to movies, shop, travel and be a tourist, yoga (teacher of adults and children), massage therapist, read, write (although you probably thinking nice grammar and sentence structure right now....I'm holding a baby cut me a break LOL). I like lots of things but mostly I like people!
My story in a nutshell! I could delve into our journey with SPD but I have found it to be extremely similar to most everyone else's.
