My neighbor's nephew has Fragile X, she takes him every once in awhile to give his parents some alone time. She said that his therapy was just discontinued and she is trying to find advocates to help her. I have looked a little into Fragile X and see there are sensory issues that go along with this and she described a lot of his behaviors that sound sensory. I have given her a ton of information, weighted items to help him with. When I have time I am going to get together with her to explain an sensory diet to see if that helps at all. She said it seems as though he forgets something the minute after it is told. He is not verbal... etc... I am just wondering if any of you have any information regarding this disorder, know of any advocacies, or can share any advice. Thanks!!

Fragile X tends to come with hypersensitivities in particular is what I've heard.

We saw a geneticist back in February because one of my daughter's doctors thought she may have Fragile X. It turned out she did not, but the genetic doctor told me there is a treatment for it, unlike most other genetic disorders. He did not elaborate on the treatment.
