New Here! - mamiweber - 10-16-2013 1. What brings you here? My 3yo has just been diagnosed with SPD. 2. What is your relations to someone with SPD? Do you have it? a child of yours? Do you treat SPD kids as a professional? See above. I have had sensory issues my entire life and feared that I would have a kid with the same challenges. I am a pediatric nurse and have a lot of anxiety due to my exposure to kiddos with all sorts of diagnoses. 3. Share a little of your journey if you'd like. It is just beginning. We have an IEP and have just started ST & OT-SI 4. Is there any immediate help you need? Name & Number to a great family therapist. 5. SPD doesn't run your life! What are you or your child's gifts? Interests? He is extremely charismatic and lights up a room,loves to laugh & is a very quick learner. 6. What do you like to do in your spare time? Any hobbies or interests? I've been both encouraged and discouraged on this forum, but I'm glad I stuck it out.
